Exterius Brings Christmas Pantomime Back to Sir John Moore Primary School
A Community Moment Worth Celebrating
Sir John Moore C E Primary School in Appleby Magna was unable to fund its annual Christmas pantomime last year. This year, the Exterius team stepped in to make sure the children didn’t miss out once again. Exterius proudly sponsored the coach travel for the trip, while neighbouring business RiskFire contributed towards the pantomime tickets, alongside support from other local community sponsors.
A huge thank you goes to Eve McSherry whose camera skills captured the day beautifully.

An Afternoon Filled With Excitement
When the Exterius team arrived at the school, the pupils were waiting outside, buzzing with excitement. There were plenty of wide smiles, thank yous, and looks of amazement as the Exterius trucks pulled up. Two team members arrived wearing Santa hats, setting a festive tone and adding to the fun before the children even set off.
The day was filled with laughter and more physical activity than anyone expected. Based on the comments afterwards, a few calf muscles will certainly be feeling the effects for a while.
The excitement continued during the pantomime interval, where pupils were treated to homemade gingerbread men, lovingly baked by Fiona, Exterius’ Operations and Admin Support. Putting her 50 years of baking experience to the test, Fiona prepared an impressive 150 gingerbread men, which went down an absolute treat with the children.

Why This Initiative Matters
Exterius has always felt at home in Appleby Magna. It’s the kind of village where the team is greeted with waves and smiles every morning as they pass through. Being part of this community brings with it a strong sense of responsibility and pride, and supporting the school’s pantomime felt like a meaningful way to give something back.
Helping the children enjoy a proper end to their Christmas term wasn’t just a nice gesture. It reflected Exterius’ values as a family-run business that believes in supporting the people and places around them.

Proud to Support Local Schools and Families
The pantomime was made possible thanks to genuine collaboration between local businesses and community supporters. Exterius is proud to have played a part in bringing joy to the pupils and in ensuring this well loved tradition could continue.
The team looks forward to continuing its involvement with community projects and to finding more opportunities to support local families and schools in the years ahead.
A Final Word from the Team
Being able to contribute to this year’s pantomime was a proud moment for everyone involved at Exterius. It reminded the team why community matters and why these small acts of kindness often have the biggest impact.
